We wanted a denim jacket that would make your usual outfits a little more interesting. That started with the fabric: custom-developed 14oz selvedge denim with a comfortable feel and texture running both across and down the cloth.

Getting that texture right took dozens of adjustments. We refined the thickness, length, spacing and density of the slub yarns—the irregular threads that create those distinctive streaks. Look closely and you’ll notice how they break up the indigo surface, adding depth to an otherwise simple jacket.

The vintage finish takes another kind of patience. We stonewash the denim with pumice, then work the faded areas by hand. Deep indigo remains alongside lighter blue highlights across the body and sleeves, bringing out the weave, seams and natural folds.

At the hand-rubbing stage, one person can finish only around three jackets a day. That time goes into the placement and gradual transitions of the fades, giving the jacket its worn-in appearance.
