This jacket is built on the foundation of post-war U.S. flight utility wear — developed for air crews who needed warmth, durability, and freedom of movement long after leather A-2 jackets proved impractical.

The outer shell is made from Jungle Cloth, a rugged satin weave fabric originally developed for flight and field gear. Known for its dense structure and abrasion resistance, Jungle Cloth was widely used in military garments where durability mattered more than appearance.

To withstand cold air at altitude and long hours on open airfields, this jacket features a high-pile shearling blend collar with 30% wool content, offering both insulation and softness around the neck — the most vulnerable area to heat loss.

Inside, a 50% wool blended fleece lining provides serious cold-weather protection, turning this jacket into a true winter work piece rather than a lightweight fashion outerwear.
